Many people do not take cleaning the pool into consideration when making the investment for either an in-ground or above ground swimming pool. However, it quickly becomes apparent that you will need to keep the pool clean and looking good. The next step is determining what type of pool cleaner you will purchase to take care of the job at hand. You basically have two choices, automatic pool cleaners or manual cleaners.

While the manual cleaners are cheaper, a few things need to be considered before jumping into this purchase. First, you must consider the fact that having a manual cleaner means you will physically have to get in the pool each day to remove the unwanted debris such as dirt, twigs, insects and other things that end up in the pool. This may not seem like a big deal when the weather is perfect for swimming, but you must consider that this will not always be the situation. The pool will still need cleaned on cool days, rainy days and those days when you are exhausted from a hard day’s work and just don’t feel like jumping in the pool for another two or three hour job.

That is where the automatic pool cleaners come in. While these cleaners are much more expensive than the manual cleaners, the benefits are apparent. They are specifically designed to “set and forget”. You hook them up, put them in the pool and go about your daily business while they clean your pool. No more jumping in when you are tired or the weather is not prime swimming conditions. This little buddy will not complain when it is raining or when the weather is cool. He will clean away giving you a spotless pool and allowing you to enjoy your pool for swimming instead of worrying about cleaning it after a hard day at the office.

Promote a Healthy Heart by Walking Daily

A very popular topic these days are exercises you can do at home. People are busy with work or life in general, but want to stay physically fit. The best alternative to staying physically fit is to work out at home, but many are not sure where to start. Most people are not aware just how important walking / jogging is. Many are not aware that recent studies have shown the average person needs to walk 10,000 steps per day in order to promote a healthy heart.

If 10,000 steps seems like an overwhelming milestone to you, let me break things down because it isn’t as bad as it seems. Think about how many steps you take in your daily walk of life from the time you wake up until the time you lie down at night. Chances are you probably walk at least a few hundred, may a few thousand just doing your daily activities. To sum it up, a mile is equal to 2,000 steps meaning you will need to walk 5 miles a day to be in tip top shape.

However, other exercises can be done to promote good health reducing the number of steps you need per day. Remember, the 10,000 step rule hold true if that is all you are doing. By adding some simple exercise like curls, leg lifts, arm exercises and stretching exercises, you can reduce that number of daily steps needed.

A good idea is to purchase a pedometer (They are not very expensive ). Attach it to your hip when you wake up in the morning and carry out your daily activities. Don’t focus on taking extra steps to run the number up, rather just do a normal daily routine. Before you lie down at night take a look at the pedometer and see how many steps you traveled that day. I would suggest doing this for a few days and then taking the average to give you an idea of how much you need to put with it to reach your 10,000 steps.

Going Contemporary in the Bedroom

Many people love the contemporary design. It gives a look of simplicity, yet sophistication to the room. Unfortunately, when it comes to developing this look in the bedroom, many have problems trying to get started. Below are a couple of ideas to help you get started with your project.

During the entire brainstorming part of the project, always keep in mind that the one thing that separates contemporary designs from the rest of the field is that it is simple and has clean lines. Usually, we see the use of darker colors like browns and blacks as well with this design.

Zebra print is one pattern that seems to fit the contemporary design like a glove. It has the colors and the clean lines mentioned above. While we typically see it used for the bedding as it is the central focal point, zebra is also available in almost anything you can think of such as curtains and rugs. Regardless of which pieces you need, you can most likely find it in zebra.

For the walls, you will want to go with a darker color like a darker brown. Going with a solid darker color such as this will allow the accessories and other furniture in the room take over the main theme. This will allow you do decorate the room with a smaller budget as your existing furniture can be used.

The internet is an excellent place to get ideas for your bedroom design. You can shop several stores, view the decorating sites seen on television and read what others are doing. Once you have your creative juices flowing, you are ready to begin your project.

When looking for a pool cleaner to service your swimming pool, it can be confusing trying to determine where to start. The options are seemingly endless and the price can range from a few hundred dollars to thousands of dollars depending upon the model and features. Below are a few simple things you can ask yourself that will help narrow the field to shop from.

What type of debris

One of the first questions you should ask yourself is what type of debris can be expected in the pool. If it is installed near trees, you can expect to have larger items like twigs, leaves and possibly acorns in your pool on a regular occasion. If your pool is located in the open, you may only be looking at the normal debris that you or your guest will track in when getting in and out of the pool. This will help you eliminate a large portion of the cleaners and will also help you determine what kind of expense you can expect to pay.

Automatic or manual

This may be led by your budget or can be by personal preference. If you don’t mind getting in the pool and cleaning it manually, you can save a great deal of money by shopping for the manual pool cleaners. On the other hand, if you would like to just plug it in and forget about it an automatic machine is the way to go. The price of the automatic cleaners are much more expensive than the manual one, but the benefits are apparent.

The Right Stroller Makes All the Difference in the World

Parents with more than one small child are aware that a double stroller needs to do more than just hold both children. One of the most common problems you have is one child always complaining that the other one is aggravating them. If it is a long day at the zoo and one gets tire, you have a whole new problem of them not being comfortable.

Fortunately, strollers are becoming more like automobiles these days and have almost every feature you can imagine on them. Unfortunately, all those nice features come with a price. My recent search was brought on by a family vacation that didn’t go so well due to not having the right kind of stroller. We had the tandem double stroller ( one child sits in front of the other) that we had used for a while, but had never had it in a situation where it was really being used.

We found that the stroller was hard to navigate in heavy populated areas, the children were not comfortable for one reason or the other and it just ruined the entire day. As my kids were crying and my wife and I were at our wits end, I started to noticing other double strollers and how the parents were having no trouble at all navigating them around.

My search ultimately pointed me to the InStep models. They offered everything I was looking for in a stroller and for a very reasonable price compared to some of the others in the same class. I carefully researched it and ultimately ended up buying one of their double strollers. We have had the stroller for a few months now and I could not be happier.

I would highly recommend this stroller to any parent. Although I only have experience with the double stroller, the reviews on the single models are just as good. In my opinion, they are top of the line and I would definetly purchase the same thing again if need be.

An area of the kitchen that catches a large majority of the dirt and debris are our rugs. They catch the dirt from our shoes, food and other types of debris. They serve the purpose of protecting our valuable floors and also to enhance our decor.

When you are shopping for rugs to go in your kitchen, you should make sure they are washable. You want to be able to toss them in the washing machine once they are dirty instead of having to take them to the cleaners. The kitchen rugs that are machine washable are typically not that expensive either. This allows you to have several different rugs for you to change out depending upon your mood or the season to give your kitchen a new look.

Another benefit to these rugs is their durability. Since they are designed withstand the washing machine, they also tend to last longer. This is a big selling point for the frugal shopper, like myself, because we always want to feel like we got a great product at the best possible deal.

After you have set your budget, one of the hardest things many people have when decorating their bedroom is getting started. You want to pick that perfect decor that will shout style and elegance to anyone that enters the room and give you that peaceful tranquility that you deserve.

Among the best types of themes for a bedroom that will accomplish all of the above is animal print. In particular, zebra print is among the most popular types of bedding today as it will go with almost anything yet it is a symbol of style and elegance. The Item in the Kitchen We Overlook

When hosting an event at your home where many friends, guests and family members are going to be present, we want everything to be “just right”. Nothing can be out of place and we want to give everyone the best impression that we can possibly can give. If the guest are in your home for any period of time they are most likely going to see your trash can in the kitchen. Yes, this one little thing is going to be noticed by the majority of the people.

By nature, we don’t want to think about trash or anything dealing with it. We will decorate, clean and work our fingers to the bone getting prepared. If the trash can in the kitchen is lucky, we may give it a once over or wash it out so it doesn’t smell up things, but that is about the extent of it.

This does not have to be the case though. A very attractive trash can for the kitchen can be purchase for very little expense. Some of the most popular models are stainless steel and wooden trash cans if your cabinets are not designed where you can conceal it. If you have a kitchen where your garbage can is concealed, your expense will be even less as you can purchase one of the plastic trash cans and are ready to go.

The stainless steel trash cans are usually very easy to clean. They often times have plastic inserts that can easily be removed for cleaning. This really makes keeping the garbage smell out of the kitchen when the trash bag leaks or tears while in the can.

Let Go of Clutter – Have a Yard Sale

A great way to rid your home of clutter is to have a yard sale. Here are a few tips to having a successful yard sale. First you need a great sign. Think about using a color that will catch the eye of future buyers. Neon colors are great for this. Make sure the information on the sign can be read easily. Especially, from a moving car. Be sure and put all the information on the sign such as address, date and time. Put your sign in a good spot. Also make arrows to help direct traffic to your sale.

Advertising your sale is a must. Put an ad in the classified section of your local newspaper. Mention popular items such as toys, bikes, children’s clothes and electronics to draw serious shoppers. Place fliers around town.

A great yard sale provides room for shoppers to browse, park and overhead protection in case of rain. Carports and garages are a great place to set up. Next set up tables and its great to have a temporary clothesline for clothing. Make sure and group similar items together. Clean up your items.

Place big ticket items and electronics at the front of your sale to attract drive-by shoppers. Tag all items with a specific price. Try to give similar items the same price.

Be prepared to haggle. After all people are looking for a great bargain. Remember, they are paying for your clutter and carrying it away.

At the end of the yard sale, donate anything that did not sell to charity. After all, we are trying to rid your home of clutter for good.

Building a Beautiful Butterfly Garden

Butterflies are sure to bring a smile to anyone’s face. Having them present in a garden seems to bring movement within. Adding butterflies to any garden is a very simple process.

A sunny area is a sure way to attract these beautiful creatures. April and May are a great time of year to begin a butterfly garden. The soil is warm enough in these spring months for annual seeds. Mexican sunflower and zinnia are a few to start with. Just keep in mind when planting, brightly colored flowers attract butterflies.

A little protection provided for butterflies is a great way to get out of stormy or windy weather. Butterflies tend to not hold up well in these types of weather. A mix of shrubbery will be a great shelter.

Butterflies like to sun since they are cold-blooded. Adding stepping stones to a garden provides a great place for them to bask and warm quickly. Water is also a must for a butterfly garden. If you see butterflies in nature, it is usually near puddles.

A key ingredient to remember for a butterfly garden is food. For a butterfly garden to be successful, food must be offered for each state. Butterflies begin as eggs, then they become caterpillars and finally becoming the colorful, winged creatures that are sought after. Gardeners must offer a variety of plants because each life stage requires different things. The juvenile stage wouldn’t eat the same food as an adult insect. A butterfly watcher’s guide is a great way to find a listing of plant food for caterpillars as well as adults. This means in order to have butterflies, a gardener must put up with caterpillars first.

These are just a few tips and you will be on your way to a colorful butterfly patch.
