Why Does My Computer Run Slow?
I bet you often whisper “why does my computer run slow?” when you are trying to run a program or running multiple program at a time. You could be very depressed while you do not have much time to wait for them to load because you want to quickly finish your works. There are many different factors that affect your computer’s performance. There are three major factors that cause your computer to slow down.
1. Insufficient Memory
There are two kinds of computer memory that affect directly to your computer’s performance, such as RAM and Graphic Memory.
Graphic memory does not influence much of your PC speed as long as you are not running programs, that demand high definition graphic display such as Games (3D), Photo editor software, or video editor software. If you are a gamer, designer, or advertiser, you would need a very high RAM.
RAM does a very important job in running your computer. The higher the RAM you have the better your computer will perform. Windows XP, for example, will run very slow if you only have 256MB of RAM.
2. Spyware, Adware, and Virus
Three of them are scary. Virus can destroys all of your data. Spyware or adware can steal all your personal information including passwords that you save on your browser. There are many programs available on the net that you can easily purchase.
They affect your computer because they are also programs that need a little bit of your memory space to run. Imagine if you have couples of them in your system, your memory space is easily drained for them to run. You never know, because they are invisible.
3. System Registry
In my personal opinion, this is the most important thing that you have to maintain at least once per week.
If you never know what that is, you should check it out. You can simply go to the start menu, click on “run” and type in “regedit” before pushing enter. You should see a whole bunch of program codes, never try to change them. One small change can paralyze all your system.
If you have used your computer for months and never do regular maintenance you should experience a slow computer. Even worse if the errors occur often, you should be careful before you experience a more serious problem such as blue screen of death.
Should you bring your computer to the expert and pay them to fix your computer every time it slows down? Not necessarily, most of the reasons according to statistic are unclean registry.
